The manufacture code, “ksd”, is stamped into the side, as well as a 1943 date. The case is original to this set, but there is some slight wear and marks throughout. The rubber is a bit deformed in areas, but still quite soft and flexible. These can be moved back approx 10mm, and allow the wearer to use the binoculars with or without the mask. Features the RARE Kriegsmarine Eye Piece fittings, as well as rubber Gas Mask end pieces.

The left side is marked with a prominent Kriegsmarine Adler, the serial number, “2074503” (indicating they were made in 1940). The RARE feature is that rather than the stnadard black crackle finish, this pair is wrapped in LEATHER! Specifically issued to Searchlight and Sound Locator units, the right side is body marked. Made of aluminum, brass, and steel by Carl Zeiss Jena, these 7 x 50 power binoculars are in EXCELLENT used condition! The lens bodies retain about 95% of their original, finish, and the aluminum end piece fittings are 100% intact! The focus adjustments still function perfectly on both eye pieces and the optics are still VERY clear, though a bit foggy (objective lenses are a dirty). Though this type was the standard, specialized personnel required stinger optics, and were issues to personnel on a limited basis.
